About

A Pet Story publishes plain-English guides for dog and cat owners in the United States: why pets behave the way they do, how to train and care for them, and how to choose everyday gear.

How we work

• Care and behavior articles are based on veterinary and animal welfare sources such as the AVMA, AAHA, ASPCA, Cornell, VCA, PetMD, RSPCA and Cats Protection.
• Buying guides summarize themes from customer reviews and expert advice. We do not test the products ourselves, and we say so in each guide.
• Health and poisoning articles never carry product or affiliate links.

What this site is not

This site is not a veterinary practice and does not diagnose or treat animals. If your pet seems ill, call your veterinarian.

How we earn money

Some guides link to products on Amazon. If you buy through those links we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Read the Affiliate Disclosure.
